Orla Magorrian

MSc MISCP CSCS
Chartered Physiotherapist

Orla graduated from the School of Physiotherapy, University of Manchester in 2000. After working in health care systems in the UK and the USA she moved to Dublin to complete her Masters in Sports and Exercise Medicine at Trinity College Dublin 2002 2003. Since then, Orla has gained extensive clinical experience both in the world of sport and general life. She has been team physio in various settings including World university Games Daegu 2003, Clontarf RFC XV 2003-2007, PSA tour 2017 ( including US Open 2017).

In day to day clinic life Orla takes a holistic approach to her treatment. She has a keen understanding of the effects of stress on our bodies systems and the how the physiology associated can impact on our bodies ability to heal. She is an advocate of strength based rehab and breathing mechanics (she had us all working on our breathing before it was ‘cool’!) and is vastly experienced in post op joint rehab.

Orla undertook a career sabbatical abroad in 2018 for 2 years with her family. As she was residing in the US, she underwent the arduous process of obtaining her Physical Therapy License. She used the time wisely and participated in continuous athletic and clinical development to deepen her understanding of how to resolve various musculoskeletal disorders and post-natal conditions. As a mum of 3 with first hand experience, she is passionate about helping women to manage their pelvic health pre and post-natally.

A member of the DSC Team from the outset, Orla brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her therapy and is everyone’s go to when we need answers (in physio and in life!)
